What is Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)?
Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) is an effective treatment for chronic pain of neuropathic origin. IMS was developed by Dr. Chan Gunn while he was a clinic physician at the Worker's Compensation Board of British Columbia in the 1970's. He is currently President of iSTOP and clinical professor at the University of Washington's Multi-Disciplinary Pain Centre in Seattle. Dr.Gunn has been awarded The Order of British Columbia as well as The Order of Canada, the nation's highest honour, for his contributions towards solving chronic pain. He has also been elected Honorary Fellow of Peterhouse Cambridge University.
IMS is effective and has few side effects; the technique is also unequalled for finding and diagnosing muscle shortening in deep muscles.
What is Pool Therapy
Pool therapy provides a safe early activation program for the client recovering from illness or injury, or one wanting to return to fitness for an active life-style. It is tailored to meet individual needs and fitness levels. Each client is supervised by a qualified physiotherapist.
A $15.00 fee will be charged for appointments where less than 24 hours notification was given - an office answering machine is on 24 hours for after hour messages.
ICBC & WCB Claims Patients
Clinic Physiotherapy, Acupuncture and IMS fees will apply, and be payable at the time of treatment until we have verification that your claim has been accepted.
